iX | Paris 2013 is Bootcamp Venture's 21st event globally in 5 years and will showcase 20 of the most promising French startups from the fields of digital media, mobile and e-commerce, health tech, IT, and more. Each company is pre-screened and trained by Bootcamp Ventures, providing a focused and exciting chance for networking and deal flow.
Daniel Bessis is currently Paris Region Agency’s Chief Representative in Israel. His main task is to create value by fostering bilateral Industrial R&D projects, getting innovation ecosystems closer the one to the other, and helping Israeli companies to land softly in Paris Region.
Before that, Daniel was the Head of Digital Innovation at Paris Region Council. Prior to his activity in a local government Daniel had an extensive international telecom career in the industry spanning over 15 years and ranging from a leading supplier (Alcatel-Lucent) to investor and operator (Vivendi), and to European and international financial institutions (EIB, ADB, IDB…).
In these positions, he worked on a number of telecommunication projects across Europe, Africa and Middle East. He led in particular several significant operations in the African market: second GSM licence in Kenya (from the bid to the establishment of the company, to the $70m non recourse structured financing), privatisation of Mauritania incumbent Mauritel and others.
Renaud is the founding technical architect of Eventbrite and is responsible for the internationalization of our platform.
Renaud started his career as an environmental consultant with Geomatrix Consultants where he designed and managed large-scale environmental cleanups. Fascinated by the Internet, Renaud joined, as the Director of Engineering, Internet photo-sharing pioneer, Zing Networks which was funded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and later acquired by Sony ImageStation.
Renaud is also an accomplished architectural and travel photographer. His work is represented by various stock photo agencies around the world like Getty Images, Age Fotostock or Alamy. His work has been used in magazines, books, movies, brochures and advertisements in more than 40 countries. A portfolio of his work can be seen on his portfolio web site.
Michel Frieh is the co-Country Managing Partner for France and heads the Paris office corporate team.
Michel is regularly singled out by his peers, in particular in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, where he is "described as "one of the best contenders in the market" and "one of the most high-profile names in private equity […]. He receives unanimous praise throughout the market for his excellent work on private equity-related matters."
Michel was also nominated as "Avocat de l'année 2010" by the magazine Option Finance/Option Droit & Affaires and has been designated by his peers as "best lawyer" in the private equity field in the 2011 Awards organized by Best Lawyers magazine. Earlier, the independent institute Merger Market distinguished him as "number one rainmaker in Europe by volume advising on 17 deals worth 3.2 billion Euros in 2005."
Dani Essindi Behrendt is a tech entrepreneur and investor with more than 15 years of experience in technology, consumer Internet and Media. He is currently the Technology Alliance Lead at Honda Silicon Valley Lab, the open innovation lab of the Japanese automotive manufacturer Honda, where he works on strategy, innovation and tech investments. Before Honda, Dani was at RII, the business incubation arm of RICOH, working as an EIR on new product creation and spin-outs for RICOH’s strategic expansion roadmap. Prior to RICOH, Dani was the co-founder & CEO of tripJane, an award winning online travel discovery service. He also co-founded the re-birth of Red Herring, serving as its COO from 2003 to 2006. Before his tenure at Red Herring, Dani was the editorial director for ETRE, where he set the strategic direction and built relationships among technology CEOs and investors. He has also helped launch several technology startups and media companies and currently serves as an advisor to several Internet consumer startups. Dani is a trained economist and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
